Expert therapy for emotional growth and family support.

Expert therapy for emotional growth and family support.
At Journey2UCounselling, I believe in the transformative power of therapy. My person-centred approach with DBT therapy ensures that you are at the heart of every session, facilitating personal growth and emotional healing.
I offer child play therapy, and I belief every child has the capacity to heal and learn skills through play and emotional safety, helping them make sense of their inner world.

Before any therapy begins, a 20-minute consultation call is offered to talk together. I will ask some questions, and you can ask me any questions you have. I offer online and in-person sessions for adults and in-person sessions for children. Whether you're seeking clarity on a specific concern or ongoing support, my services are designed to help adults and children navigate emotional and behavioural challenges, develop healthy coping skills, and grow in self-awareness.
I work in a neurodivergence affirming way so therapy can help with emotional regulation, sensory needs, social communication, executive functioning, self esteem and coping with stress. I accommodate the space by offering dimmed rooms, fidgets and blankets.
Children's therapy sessions are 40 minutes each; adult sessions, online and in person, are 50 minutes each.

My approach to counselling is held on the belief that you hold the answers to your own wellbeing but sometimes the world and voices of others are to loud and it can lead to our own voices to become quiet or when they do appear we shut them down, my want is to offer people the space they need to navigate their wants and needs to understand and work through patterns of behaviour and navigate a different route if that's wanted.
To change or to understand the self at a level where change can take place, finding the root causes of our disruptions is key to self-development

I'm a qualified family practitioner and counsellor.
As a family practitioner, I support parents and children through life's emotional challenges, including supporting families with children on the spectrum. I believe every child deserves to be understood and safe. I work with families to strengthen relationships and grow in understanding of their child's behaviours and needs. As a qualified Adult and children's counsellor and MBACP, I offer short and long-term therapy to individuals to aid self-understanding, using evidence-based practices, and I have a deep respect for each person's unique story.
As someone with ADHD myself, I bring a professional and lived experience of ADHD and offer compassionate and practical counselling to aid people to thrive.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a structured, evidence-based form of psychotherapy designed to help people manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and build healthier coping skills. It combines cognitive-behavioural techniques with mindfulness practices and focuses on four key skill areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT is often used to treat conditions involving emotional instability, such as borderline personality disorder, but it can benefit anyone struggling with overwhelming feelings or impulsive behaviours.
Talking therapy is a form of therapy that places you, the client, at the heart of the process. Rather than being told what to do or judged, you can explore thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace. Sessions are led by what feels most important to you. We work together to explore challenges, strengthen self-awareness, and build confidence in your own inner voice.
Children's therapy is a supportive, structured form of counselling that helps children understand and manage their emotions, behaviours, and challenges.
Children don't have the same cognitive ability as adults to express what is bothering them. The use of play is significant. Children's counselling is different from regular play. As a counsellor, I engage with child clients to activate the therapeutic benefits through play. The activities are child-led, and the play-based approaches on offer include crafts, small-world play, Lego play, play through flashcards, games, stories, and conversation. Fidgets and squishes are present for play too.
I presently support children aged 4 to 10.
